Finding a winter coat proved to be extremely difficult this year, especially with the large variety that is out there. Duster, double breasted, biker, leather, parka, wrap, theres no hiding from the fall/winter coat trend. But I've found my saviour in the shearling coat.
Shearling coats over the past few years have become more and more popular. Not just because they are becoming part of the fashion, but because they actually function like a jacket should. Unlike what I have encountered. Jackets that have buttons just so it looks nice but absolutely non functional, or your trench being so thing a bin bag would keep you warmer. Or a wrap coat looking lovely open, but once you tie it to keep warm you look like you've put on your grandma's dressing gown.
Whether you can afford to splash out on a luxurious one or want a cheaper version that might not be the real suede but does the job, I'm going to talk you through my top 5 shearling jackets from luxurious to affordable.
Number one is the most expensive at £1820 from Acne
The quality and material of this jacket is worth the buy if you have a spare 2 grand and is definitely featuring on my 'will never achieve wish list'
Of course the jacket that I bought has to feature somewhere near the top. At only £65 from Missguided this biker style shearling jacket, although it may not be the real deal, has been my best winter buy so far.
At number 3 was a random online find with a random price of £62.16. From Choies this single button lapel collared jacket comes in a variety of colours and would be a steal this winter.
The real deal at www.sheepskinworld.co.uk
Your not going to be sold anything other than luxury if it comes from a real sheepskin and leather website. But let's be honest, you get what you pay for so this range is slightly more expensive, ranging between £100-£300.
A light beige shearling biker style jacket from Forever 21 for a nice small budget at only £40.50.
